Currently, there are many cosmetic surgical procedures to improve the body’s shape.
In this case removing excess skin.
It is a very common cosmetic surgery procedure. Many women opt for this process after several pregnancies that have left sagging skin in the lower abdomen called "apron effect", and after unsuccessfully trying different diets or exercises.
We offer very positive results in removing the "apron" and smooth the abdomen. It can be done in conjunction with liposuction in those cases where there is also excess fat in the waist, hips, and inner thighs.
The procedure is performed under local anesthesia, which is called the epidural.
This is performed by placing the anesthesia in the patient's back. After sedation the patient feels no discomfort and lasts about two or three hours. The surgeon makes an incision in the bikini line to remove the excess skin, then performs the muscle attachment to the midline and this will help shape the waist and flatten the stomach. After abdominal surgery the patient should remain in the hospital overnight. We recommend two weeks off work and avoid heavy lifting for six weeks.
It is normal for the skin to be bruised after surgery, but these bruising should disappear within one week. Always consider that the end result will be seen after 40 days.
There are different types of tummy tucks: standard, extended or circumferential. The incision will vary according to the amount of excess skin.
